Feb. 1: The Kills Play Masquerade
Indie, punk, minimalist duo, “VV” and “Hotel” make up The Kills. They will bring their haunting presence to the Masquerade on February 1.
Feb. 3: Ani Difranco at Variety Playhouse
Ani Difranco is an artist known for her independence. She started out at the age of 18 taking the her brand of ‘folking you up’ from coffee houses to college campuses. She tours this winter in support of her most recent release of Which Side Are You On.
Feb. 3: Holly Fest IV at Star Bar
“The day the music died” was unquestionably a hard day in music history but the dead come to life at Holly Fest IV at The Star Bar. A dozen local bands come together to perform hits from Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper.
Feb. 4: Attention System at Star Bar
Heavy, dark-wave, electronic band Attention System plays The Star Bar. The band was voted “best new act” in 2009 by Creative Loafing readers choice awards and by me, Rose Riot! By far one of my favorite local acts.
Feb. 8: TOOL at Gwinnett Arena
If you haven’t seen Tool, make it a point before you die. It is NOT the same as on YouTube. This show is sold out, but maybe if you stand outside with your ear to the cement you can still feel the vibrations.
Feb. 8 & 9: Crispin Glover at The Plaza
Actor, Crispin Glover will grace Atlanta with his presence for not one but two nights at the legendary Plaza Theater. Each night Glover will show one of the avante garde movies of his creations flowed by a spoken word, Q&A and a signing. Feb. 9: Machine Head at Masquerade

Come out on either Feb. 10 or 11 to Variety Playhouse for They Might Be Giants and Jonathan Coulton.
