CD Review: Gojira L’Enfant Sauvage

L’Enfant Sauvage: Undeniably Gojira! A zero disappointment album!

Review by Kelly Parker

After hearing the early release of the title track, I wanted so badly to hear the rest of the album and I was not let down when I was finally able to do so!
Packed with melodic and hypnotic rhythm, intense drumming, insane guitar work and vocals that could wake the dead, or kill, –a style fans desire that Gojira perfected — L’Enfant Sauvage [translation: The Wild Child] is a powerful album that I, at times, found romantic and beautiful.
The songs have an honest quality to them and do not seem forced or molded.
I look forward to digging deeper into the meaning of each song, especially ones like “The Fall” and “Planned Obsolescence” that really left me curious.
I already love this album. It offers speed, power and the unadulterated energy Goijra seems to take pride in that the band loves to offer to its fans (and we love to receive)!
Although L’Enfant Sauvage is completely solid, and as far as studio albums go head hammering, Gojira is a band that one MUST see live to fully understand the power and energy behind the music. Knowing that, and having heard L’Enfant Sauvage, my tickets to see them in August just became even more of a delightful (and anxious) reminder of my anticipation!
