Live Review: Aaron Lewis at Wild Bill’s Atlanta

While his country side may not appeal to all his Staind fans, no one can deny that Aaron Lewis’ vocal prowess is gold no matter what style he chooses to play.

Fans of all walks of life came to hear Aaron Lewis and his take on country music last night, July 7. It wasn’t surprising to see someone in a Staind t-shirt, but it was surprising to see others wearing metal t-shirts for bands like Megadeth, Hellyeah and Metallica. It almost seemed like there was a glitch in the matrix. In fact, only one lonely cowboy hat stood out in the country show audience.

The majority of the people did seem to dress for the occasion. One would have to wonder whether these people were fans of the Aaron Lewis’ style country music or were they fans of Staind. Although this isn’t Lewis’ first rodeo, some of his Staind devotees are just now dipping their toes in the shallow end to test out the water.

Lewis’ voice seemed straight out the recording studio, which is a rare thing to hear with all the tricks available to fix mistakes. He showed that he is the real deal, and what you hear on the album is what you get live. Also, his relaxed demeanor was similar to his stage swagger at a Staind show. While some thrashed and jumped around, Lewis calmly approached the mic with ease and comfort like we were all guests at a practice rehearsal.

While his country side may not appeal to all his Staind fans, no one can deny that Aaron Lewis’ vocal prowess is gold no matter what style he chooses to play.
