Suni MF Solomon 5th Mixtape: They Notice

Suni MF Solomon’s “5th mixtape” is definitely sure to open up some eyes and turn some heads

Review by Marcus Carson

The South, over the last few years, seems to have been really stagnant with repetitive raps and the same flavor of the week, especially in a male-dominated music scene where women are viewed as sex objects rather than for their talent and skill level. Well, one female emcee is here to show otherwise.

Local Atlanta emcee, Suni Solomon, is on the grind, dropping mixtape after mixtape and consistently performing live shows, bringing energy like no one else.  Her newest mixtape, They Notice drops on 9/11, but I got to exclusively hear it first and I must say, I was very impressed.

I have listened to Suni Solomon in the past and, I must say, her skills are really improving since the previous mixtape. Her single “They Notice” is a hit and should be heard by listeners worldwide. Her style and delivery has a smooth yet raspy flow. The beat for they notice is real jazzy yet chopped and screwed.

“Bad Bitches” is a track in which Solomon speaks about some of the most beautiful women she would like to hook up with and the type of women  she is attracted to.  This is a party song for listeners and a few buddies to smoke to, and jump around. The beat is very upbeat and could definitely get a crowd moving.

“Double Cup Vision” has a late ’90s southern hip hop feel. This is another track to seems to talk about getting drunk and popping pills. I know it sounds typical, but at least Suni Solomon is lyrical. A lot of ass dropping references in this track. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing at all, because Suni Solomon makes it sound good, and that’s something a lot of rappers fail to do in this day and time.

Atlanta should keep an eye out for Suni Solomon. This artist has a lot of potential and a lot of future deals coming her way. The 5th mixtape is definitely sure to open up some eyes and turn some heads. If you haven’t heard her music, check her out at:
